Grand Opening Sundays in March
Did you see us in the Gazette? Christ Community Church is opening to the community on Sunday, March 21. March 21 and 28 will be "Grand Opening Sundays" and great opportunities to invite friends. These grand opening Sundays lead up to our community event on April 3, and then ...
What To Expect
The worship service is about one hour. We spend approximately 30 minutes worshiping God through songs of praise. We spend about 25 minutes studying a passage of the Bible.
Our service structure is traditional with an invitation to worship, a confession of sin, Communion, and a closing blessing. Our worship style is modern with lyrics projected with the power point onto a screen and guitar and piano accompaniment.
Please arrive 5 minutes early to check in your child at the Children's Church welcome desk. Children ages 6 months-3 years old stay in the Children's program for the whole service. Children ages 4-11 attend the service with their parents until the midpoint of the service, where they are then dismissed to Children's Church. Children of any age are welcome to stay with their parents during the entire worship service.
Service Times
The worship service is at 11:00am at William B Gibbs Elementary School. Light refreshments are served after the service.
About Us
Christ Community Church is a new church located in suburban Washington, DC, along the 270 corridor. We are a member of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) and a daughter church of Shady Grove Presbyterian Church in Gaithersburg. As a church we have three distinctions.
1. Providing superb children's ministry.
A vibrant faith and a strong moral foundation are keys to a child's development. Our Sunday morning children's program aims to encourage your child to honor God in a fun and loving environment.
2. Providing community to transplants.
Many come to this area for work and leave behind the support of family and friends. Our church aims to provide you with both friends and practical support when you need it.
3. Providing a "user friendly' atmosphere.
Have you ever gone to church and felt like an outsider to an exclusive club? Have you ever gone to church and felt lost as the people used words and rituals that they all knew, but you did not? We know how you feel! Our church aims to be accessible to people who are new to church. We take the time to explain Biblical ideas and language. We try to keep the service simple, clear, and straightforward.
