First Time Visitor
Hello, and thanks for visiting our website! You are invited to our Sunday worship service. Before you come, here are a few things you should know.
We are a young church. We started in March, 2010. We average about 50 people on Sunday.
We focus on the Gospel. Our worship service features a confession of sin and weekly communion. Every sermon is rooted in the ministry of Jesus Christ. We have found that most visitors are accustomed to one of two messages. They are taught either 'be moral and God will accept you' or 'God accepts you no matter what.' The Gospel is contrasted with both of these messages. The Gospel is that you are more sinful than you ever realized, but you are more loved and approved in Christ than you ever imagined.
After the service each Sunday, we serve refreshments and people stay for about 30 minutes talking with one another. This is also an opportunity for people to ask questions about the church.
Our worship service takes place every Sunday at 11:00am, at William B. Gibbs, Jr. Elementary School in Germantown, MD. (click here for directions)
When you arrive, please walk in the main doors to the lobby. There you will see two tables.
The first table to your right is the KidZone ministry check-in table. If you have children in the age range of 6 months to 5th grade, stop by and see us for information on the ministries we have to offer your kids. Should you choose to have your child(ren) participate in our KidZone program, you will need to register them at this table. Note that registration begins at 10:45.
The second table, in front of you and to your left, is the Welcome Table. Please stop by and get a name tag so we can greet you by name. Additionally, we have the service bulletins at this table. The bulletin is an outline of what to expect that day in our worship service. Click here for a sample bulletin.
Once you have visited the welcome table, you will take a short walk, straight ahead, down the hallway. Look for the sign that will point you to the multipurpose room entrance on the left. This is our sanctuary and where the service of worship will take place.
Our worship service includes prayer, scripture readings, contemporary music- as well as traditional hymns, and a sermon. For more in depth information on our worship service, click this link.
Following the worship service, we ask that you pick up your children from the KidZone rooms, and then join us for a time of light refreshments. This is a great time for you to meet new people and to get to know who we are as a community.
We sincerely hope that you do come to visit us soon! We look forward to meeting you.
